The Last Wish

Was sleeping one night
Had a weird dream
Horrified is what I was
With fear up to the brim
Fear creeped up
And I started to shiver
It got real cold
And everything seemed queer
The owl shrieked
And the clock struck three
Suddenly all went quiet
And I just wasn’t ‘ME’
My head started aching
And my eyes turned red
Felt something was moving
Under the bed
Gathered all the courage
And I walked to the window
Saw the moon but no clouds
Was mesmerized by its glow
Suddenly I see
A shadow walk by
Wanted to run right then
But my legs weren’t fine
Try to turn around
But my body was frozen
Suddenly a hard blow
And I’m dragged to a den
Its dark everywhere
Can’t see the moon anymore
Chills run up my spine
As I hear the closing of a door
Someone walks to me
And says in a hoarse voice
“Tell me your last wish
As you’re going to die”
I ask him why
What is it that I’ve done?
He tells me, he’s death
And my time has come
Its hard to decide
When it comes to the last wish
So many things went through my head
But all I wanted was the last kiss
I told him what I wanted
He gave me an astonished look
Granted me what I asked for
And picked up his book
“I’ll come back tomorrow”
Is what he said
I felt a pinch,
Then found myself on my bed
Thought it was all a dream
Till I saw scars on myself
I was stoned for a while
Started shivering again, I needed help
Picked myself up
And thought what to do
Could cry all day
And then turn blue
Its funny when you know
You’re gonna die that very day
Past flashes by
And you wonder in dismay
It was December suddenly
I was sitting with my love
Should have held her tighter
As she curled
Everything is so perfect
Why does have to end like this?
Its inevitable I know
And I can feel the drift
I ran to her place
Wondering if she’s there
Multiple thoughts going through my head
What if she’s out somewhere
Luckily she was home
She opened the door
My eyes got wet and I gave her a hug
I was an addict, she was my drug
She asked if everything was fine
And I lied on her face
She knew I was lying
And gave me a cold gaze
I told her I missed her
And wanted to see her again
She held me close
And it started to rain
We had a cup of coffee
Then I saw the Holy Dove
I kissed her mouth
And then we made love
We talked a lot
Then resentfully I kissed her goodbye
Wasn’t scared anymore
Even though I was going to die
He came back again
As he promised me
Closed his book
And asked if I was ready
It all came back again
The sweet moments together
I closed my eyes
And said I’ll miss her
My heart ached
And I wanted to scream
My eyes drooped down
As he sucked life out of me
I’ll love you always
You don’t know how much I care
If you ever need me
I’ll always be right there
